Attached to English

Once again, ESU members came out to support attaches-in-training from the German Foreign Office at an event held on 14 May 2025 at International Language Centres, Colchester. The attaches gave speeches in English on the value of ‘Made in Germany’, the post-Brexit relationship with the UK, Germany’s environmental credentials and Thomas Tuchel as the England football team manager. Our members challenged the speakers with probing questions, which provided valuable practice in the language as well as in facing an authentic audience. Pictured are the trainees alongside language teacher John Irving and ESU Colchester Branch Chair Brian Cooke.
