The Salisbury Branch is joined by Gary Price for a lecture on his career and the Salisbury Cathedral.

Overview:

Gary Price started work at Salisbury Cathedral in 1986 as a stone sawyer, four years later he became Head of Stone Sawyer. In 2012 he became Clerk of Works and has been instrumental in launching the Sponsor a Stone Scheme. He is passionate about his work and likes to involve others, including providing placements where possible to students.

His talk will cover the restoration of Salisbury Cathedral, the history of masonry as a craft, some architectural styles and information on quarrying, as well as the tools and techniques used.

How to book:

Please email the Salisbury Luncheon Secretary at ESUSalisbury-EventsSec@esu.org.
