Louissa Osorio-Denney

Louissa brings to the ESU experience rooted in the performing arts and education. Starting out as a classical musician, Louissa’s MMus specialised in baroque performance and the ethnomusicology of Latin America, whilst also exploring the interdisciplinarity of music within wider educational contexts.

Louissa then sought a PGCE in Modern Foreign Languages, where she explored links between bilingualism and music, whilst gaining hands-on experience in a variety of schools for the qualification.

She has spent the past three years teaching and then leading a secondary languages department where she worked with a diverse cohort of students, helping to provide a well-rounded education by also creating extracurricular opportunities in performance.

Louissa is most passionate about empowering the next generation to contest demographic and gender stereotyping in education, the workplace and beyond. In her role as Senior Education Officer, she aims to develop our educational programmes and increase outreach to benefit the young people that need it most.

Having been raised in a multicultural household, she enjoys attending a variety of events that bring her close to her Latin American roots, including Andean band gigs and salsa nights.
