From apps and games to coursebooks and puppets, the variety of English language teaching resources in this year’s English Language Awards showed real innovation.
The awards, which took place this week, recognise advances in the field of English language teaching resources, focusing on materials which develop speaking and listening skills.
The winners were announced at an awards ceremony at the ESU’s headquarters, Dartmouth House. Jeremy Harmer, presenter, seminar leader and teacher in the UK and around the world, acted as key-note speaker, highlighting not only the importance of the spoken word, but also its power. Reflecting on the centenary of the ESU, he outlined how relevant its founding principles remain today, and how proud ESU founder, Evelyn Wrench, would be to see his vision continuing to support today’s young people.
